Day 3
Today is day 3 of my raw juice fast. It's been a lot harder than I thought, especially when I mix too many vegetables together and I have to pinch my nose in order to drink it down. The fruit juices are really delicious, but it's not good to just drink that.
Here's an example of some of the recipes I've been using:
Fruits:
3 apples
Bunch of strawberries
Handful of grapes
2 pears
Add cinnamon to juice when done.
Vegetables and fruits:
4 carrots
1 celery stick
1 apple
1/2 lemon
1/4 cucumber
I doubled this recipe and had it for dinner last night. It was pretty good.
This morning I had:
1/4 of a cantaloupe
8 strawberries
2 pears
1 apple
Cinnamon
I'm really having to gather strength from within to do this fast. I really miss food and not being able to grab something out of the cupboard or fridge anytime I want. Sometimes the juice doesn't stop my hunger and I'm use to eating any time I feel that hunger, but I have not cheated! My problem is that I eat when I'm bored or when I'm feeling depressed, so I'm hoping this will help reset my thinking. I do tend to over eat as well, so I'm trying to retrain my body and tell it that I don't need to eat so much.
Mr. Brilliant has already had some inches lost on his stomach (and he's not a big guy). He said he may have to stop just drinking juice because we don't want him to be skin and bones! He is only doing this to support me, but he also said he likes the juices.
For not eating solid foods, I'm surprised I'm not feeling tired. I don't have extra energy, but I feel good overall.
I'd like to do this for 15 days, but I'm thinking I should make 10 days my goal. I'm not sure yet.

WOW! Your commitment is admirable.. I don't think I could do this sort of thing.. Maybe for a day..but not much longer than that.. But I always hear once you get to Day 3 it's easy breezy after that!

i would never be able to do this, a friend i went away with was having juiced 'stuff' every day, left over bits and bobs like broccoli stalks etc and it just looked gross!!
