We've lived in our house for two years now, and we are just now fixing up the front yard. We've had so many other projects that the yards have been our last priority. My husband does most of the work, but we make the decisions together.
He cut down a big tree that dropped berries into our driveway, and we planted roses and other bushes that will grow into a hedge to give us some privacy. Our front yard is pretty big, so it would be nice to be able to use it. He also covered the whole yard with bark. Grass would be nice, but it's too expensive to water here in Southern California.
This plant was in the ground when we moved in. I think it will look nice in a pretty pot on the porch.
Goodbye tree! No more squished berries on the driveway!
We got a ton of bricks for free that we will be turning into walkways in the front and back yard. They will also surround our future fire pit.
Now it's time to head off for lunch and a manicure down by the beach with one of my best friends. It's a beautiful day today!
Have a great weekend!
We've been in our house a little over a year and I think its about time we start on our yard too! Good luck with your big project! Looks like a great start! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to get my yard in order this spring! We just moved in like last june but we didn't have the funds. I am actually really excited to do lawn work. Weird I know, but there is something about fixing up your "own" house and yard that feels so rewarding. I love that little green plant too. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how the walkways turn out. :) You've got the makings of a great yard.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I bet the front looks different. I might pass your house by if I am not careful =D
